Drawing With Children by Mona Brookes

To end this calendar year I delight in posting today's art lesson from Drawing with Children by Mona Brookes (I have the first edition book).


This simplistic lesson involves using the Five basic elements of shape (circle family, dot family, line families; straight, curved and angled).  Using these elements and the careful placement of such we created birds perched on a branch.  The greatest part of these lessons for me is the therapeutic fun in creating art alongside my boys.  The difficult part is patience in wiggly boys and attention spans that wax and wane...
