A Sunny Foggy Bottom Run 2012

This year's Foggy Bottom Milk Run has been the most amazing of them all for us.
Way to go CHEetas!

We did our first Foggy Bottom Run in 2010
That morning Ocean had a fever and was very sick.  I had already signed us all up, Brian was working and I had no childcare options.  So, into an Ergo Carrier he went whilst I tried to keep up with August.  The day was sunny and warm.  After two miles of bouncing on my back and crossing the finish line - Ocean hurled whatever was in his stomach overboard onto the pavement, my shoes and became the chagrin of other finishers.  August did a great job on this race and really surprised me in how fast he could run.

Our second Foggy Bottom Run in 2011
This run we affectionately refer to as the Soggy Bottom Run.  It was a crazy weather day.  Pouring rain, gales and gusting wind, some thunder and a bit of hail.  On the way to the race I prepared the boys for avoiding all possible puddles, you know - for safety.  Upon arrival, the glimpse of near ponds - not puddles made me laugh and through all wet shoe caution to the wind.  Brian had the day off and we had a fantastic day of making memories together as a family.  August & Brian finished well and Ocean & I endured to the end.

The Third Foggy Bottom Run, 2012
Another sunny fun day in Ferndale, Ca.  I love that the race begins at the corner of Main St. & Ocean Ave.  This year was something completely different.  In October of 2011 our sons were in a terrible riding lawn mower accident where Ocean almost lost his foot and lower leg.  So in just FIVE months Ocean ran, not walked the Foggy Bottom Run!  Earlier in November we rolled him in his wheelchair for the Turkey Trot here in Eureka, Ca.  Oh, to be running again!  Not only that, he did the two mile race in under 22 minutes!  The only bummer of this year's run is that Brian couldn't be with us.  This is a testament of God's amazing goodness and a gift to all of you who have prayed for our son's healing and recovery.  Thank you!
