Yam treats:
Using a mandolin, slice the Yams or Sweet Potatoes on the thickest setting
Dry in your dehydrator according to its instructions or bake in a low oven till crisp (for raw) or bake at 350.
Wait for them to be completely cool, then store in an airtight container.
Liver "jerky" treats:
1 lb organic beef liver
1 cup organic/fresh ground peanut butter
2 cups soaked/dried gluten free oats
Put livers in blender with enough water to make a pate style "paste". Transfer liver paste to a mixer bowl and blend in remaining ingredients.
Dehydrate using your dehydrator's instructions for jerky. They look like doggie churros and smell terrible while dehydrating (unless you appreciate the smell of liver). My sons say they look like dog poop, oh well. The pups love them!
We leave some long to fill their Kong Large Puppy Toy
and break up the rest for rewards and treats.
I recently made another batch replacing the livers with ground beef, adding crushed egg shells and two garlic cloves. They were a little "oily" so I put a "keep dry" packet that came from an empty vitamin jar in with them. These ones really made my older son give me a warning that they really look like poop now. So, they do not win in the visually appetizing category. We'll work on that...

Fill a pastry bag, pastry tool or zip lock bag with one corner cut off with the mixture. Use a large star tip and spread in strips onto dehydrator trays till all is used.
